Privacy Policy

Zenance helps you organize your financial assets through conversation. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have, in plain language.
What we collect
- Account information: your email and name, used to sign you in and secure your account.
- Assets and documents you add: the financial information you share in conversation, and any documents you choose to upload.
- Voice: if you speak to Zenance, your audio is sent from your phone to AWS Transcribe, which turns it into text. Zenance doesn't store your audio.
- Basic technical data: standard information needed to operate and secure the app.
How your asset data is protected
Your asset data is encrypted under a key only you hold. No Zenance employee can read your stored records, and no Zenance server can read your asset data, in storage or during processing.
When the app uses AI, what you type or upload goes from your phone directly to the AI service named below. If you dictate, the audio goes directly to AWS Transcribe, which turns it into text. We list voice on its own line because audio is a different kind of data.
To be clear about the limits: the AI service does read your message in order to answer you. That is why we don't describe Zenance as "end-to-end encrypted" or "zero-knowledge".
How we use your information
- To provide and improve the Zenance service.
- To turn what you tell us into organized, structured records.
- We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who we work with
We rely on a few trusted providers to operate Zenance. Each one processes your data only to provide its service to us. Our AI and hosting provider is bound by a data processing agreement that requires it to protect your information to the same standard we do, never train its own models on it, and never use it for its own purposes. Apple and Google also carry what's needed to deliver notifications to your device, as the platforms our app runs on; that relationship doesn't carry the same no-training agreement:
- Amazon Web Services: AI (Anthropic models on Bedrock), voice transcription and app hosting.
- Supabase: stores your encrypted records.
- Expo, Apple and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: deliver app notifications to your device.
Your rights
You're in control of your information. You can request a copy of your data, delete your account and data, or ask us any privacy question. To make a request, email admin@zenance.co.
Questions and complaints
If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, email grievance@zenance.co. This is a dedicated grievance contact, not a person. We acknowledge a complaint within 5 business days and resolve it within 30 business days.
Children
Zenance is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
